I find Maria's testimony to be amazing. She is a dear woman who maybe is about 32 or so. She was born lame in both feet and she also has a disabled right hand. I've yet to hear how she found Jesus, but her spirit is so gracious and submitted to Christ, her face just shines with His beauty!
Every Saturday night she has a church friend carry her on their back to the church (a bamboo and tin structure which becomes a massive mess of malaria laden mosquitoes once dusk hits). She sits in the church from Saturday night until church time Sunday, praying for the church and the community, as well as for church members and for the nation of Uganda.
Each Sunday morning she would be so swollen with welts from the 40-60 mosquito bites she'd received the night before. Finally, after a few months, the church was able to afford a mosquito net for Maria. Yes, a net which costs probably $8-$10 took quite a bit of sacrifice on the part of the church people, so they could purchase it for their prayer warrior. God is moving in that village area. You see it in Maria's face, you hear it in the stories of the people, you even hear about how Satan is so very unhappy to be losing ground there- and people who want to serve Jesus are suffering for Him like I've never known myself. I am humbled and amazed by their faith and their faithfulness. What blessings Maria and all the people there are!
Get this- this story can be repeated in many, many of our churches. Prayer warriors, attacks by Satan, faithful servants of Jesus, people sacrificing so much just to know and belong to Him. Keep praying for our Christan family members here in Uganda. They need our encouragement and help! Thanks!
